Japan, Japanese people, we must rise now.
If we do not rise today, when will we?
Japan, Japanese people, we must rise now.
But Japan does not rise with a sword in hand.
With the hearts of a hundred million as one,
We rise with prayers for peace.
Japan is the only nation that has endured the baptism of the atomic bomb,
The only nation that can cry out for true peace.
Who now speaks of taking up arms?
What can be defended with a sword is but temporary.
Eternal peace will never come to hands that hold a sword.
Japan's destiny lies in showing the spirit of Yamato (great harmony) to the world.
Japan can now only rise through prayers for world peace.
Prayer for the peace of the world
Is the shining word of the Great Savior.
The great light of salvation, tied to Japan's prayer for peace,
Will manifest its light in every corner of the earth.
From the homes of salarymen,
From the hearts of farmers' wives,
From the workplaces bustling with machines,
Prayer for the peace of the world will become light
And spread throughout the world.
