God and Man ~Guideposts for Spiritual Peace and Awakening
 ー Written by Masahisa Goi

Chapter 8①: Conclusion

Religious philosophers and specialists in religion may have different views on what I have described in the foregoing chapters.

However, I have written this book not for academic purposes, but as guideposts for spiritual peace and awakening.

After reading this book, if you can initially nod in agreement as to what a human being is and what God is, and if you can faithfully practice exactly as I have suggested, you will surely become happy.

I have not explained any difficult spiritual practices at all, but have written about prayers and actions that can be put into practice here and now, on the spot.

What I would most like you to know, in reading this book, is that Guardian Spirits are always protecting each individual human being, without fail.

When you pray, they will surely respond in some way to your prayer or guide you.

If you faithfully follow the cautions and guidance from your Guardian Spirits, it is certain that you will successfully complete your path as a human being.

To believe this is the very first step toward truly knowing God, and this belief will be a great source of encouragement for you as you progress through your life.

Then, you will eventually reach the firm belief that you are with God, and that your spiritual guardians are accompanying you.

If you think of God only as being without form or figure, your thinking is still unfree.

Indeed, God is originally the Principle of Life, having neither form nor figure.

However, divine functions may occasionally take shape as a particular divine personality and appear in front of us as a human being.

So, if you firmly believe in the existence of Guardian Spirits and Divinities, and if you always thank them, the love of God assists you through various people and events at the appropriate time and place.

When spiritual faith fixes itself on one thing or one form, it turns into an attachment.

There are people who, in an effort to reach enlightenment, hurt or torture their physical body and treat it as a hindrance.

Yet I think that, in doing so, they are attaching themselves to the physical body.

After all, our physical bodies were brought into existence because they were deemed necessary by our divine life.

As long as we live in the physical world, we must treat the physical body with care and respect.

We must each become a person who appreciates the enjoyments of physical life without damaging or hurting it, our minds always steady and unruffled.

Otherwise, the significance of spiritual faith in the physical world becomes extremely faint.

Religions and beliefs that disrespect the physical world cannot uplift this world.

It is my hope that, in the midst of your normal physical life, you will reach a state of true spiritual peace, resting firmly on the foundation of your life.

To achieve this, I hope that you will maintain thoughts and actions of truth, goodness, and beauty while praying to your Guardian Spirits and Divinities without fail every day.

This, I believe, is the fastest way to enter a state of oneness with God.
