Being overzealous is dangerous. When I was young, I had some overzealous tendencies, so I know through experience how dangerous it is. One false step can bring ruin to yourself and the people working with you. Yet up until now, unless people had a great deal of enthusiasm, they could not achieve what they were aiming for. But those times are over. From now on, over-enthusiasm simply will not do. The only way to proceed is with an honest, sober, steady, and tranquil peace movement. Otherwise, no real work will be done. The people at the center must be free from personal ambition and greed. However, it is not easy to be that way. In spiritual groups, there is almost always some sort of desire for authority, and that is very hard to get rid of. Some might protest, saying ‘No, not me!’And perhaps they do not show any personal greed. Instead, the object of their selfishness shifts to the movement that they are volunteering for, so that they end up denouncing other groups, or contriving to defeat them. This is why you need to keep a cool head and carefully observe yourself and your actions.
