The world will never become peaceful unless we discard the outworn idea that a human being is a physical body. The point of our peace prayer movement is not to improve the world gradually, but to create an entirely new current of life—a perfectly fresh and new world. I do not mean to say that a new world will appear suddenly, though. We human beings are going to develop new and better personalities and a fresh approach to life in a perfectly natural way, so that we will look back on our former selves and say ‘Goodness, how much I have changed!’ without even realizing when it happened.
