I Heard It Like This: The Wisdom of Masahisa Goi (English Edition)

It is indeed true that we are meant to entrust all our thoughts to the light of divine love. Most of us, however, find this very hard to do. That is how the teaching of ‘fading away’ came about. What prevent you from entrusting everything to divine love and believing in it completely are the things that you thought in your past lifetimes. Those past thoughts are revealing themselves now because they want to vanish forever. Just tell yourself that this is fading away and release it into the prayer May peace prevail on Earth. It will then be erased by the immense divine light that is guiding the world toward its deliverance. In writing or in speaking with people, I do not abruptly jump into ultimate truths such as human divinity, human perfection, the non-existence of the physical body, or the non-existence of matter. I first recognize the sin (karma) and helplessness of physical human beings. Based on this recognition, I teach people to have their sins and their helplessness purified in the great light of the world peace prayer. Teaching human divinity without the practice of ‘fading away’ could plunge people into a pit of agony—into a restricted state filled with lies and deceit. For most people, I think that the easiest and most natural way to awaken to truth is to fill their hearts with a prayer that carries them out of their helplessness and into the world of their divinity.
