In this world, what we need to avoid most is attaching ourselves to something.
People attach themselves to a variety of things — money, authority, status, land, or their children — but what lies at the root of all of it is their attachment to their own physical being.
Because people want to gratify their physical being, they attach themselves to things and to people who indulge their karma.
But what good does it do to indulge karma?
Karma is not even real. It eventually fades away.
Yet people feel pleased when others gratify their karma.
They see someone who gratifies their karma as a ‘good person’ and someone who does not as a ‘bad person.’
